The Phonak ComPilot is a blue tooth device that hangs around my neck and lets Bluetooth devices such as my phone and computer laptop transmit sound into my hearing aids. It is installed on my windows7 laptop and seems to work fine, except that the device always displays a little yellow triangle with an X inside and says it needs troubleshooting. It just stops working all the time.

When it is working I need to switch from hearing the computer to hearing people, and then back again conveniently. Is there a convenient on/off Bluetooth feature in the computer program for me to do this. Whenever I disable the Bluetooth adapter the thing quits working and has to be set up all over again. I have been to the Phonak web site looking for a driver, and one doesn't seem to exist and my audiologist never gets back to me with an answer about it. It seems they know more about hearing aids than computer drivers.

The Phonak web site is worthless. They will not even talk with the end user. Is there anybody here that uses the ComPilot with their computer and phone and hearing aids that might help me with this? This really is a windows driver or set-up problem as the hearing aids are functioning perfectly, and the ComPilot is doing what it is supposed to do. Hi Beldanjo, I definitely understand how inconvenient it would be when the device you have purchased is not syncing with the computer.

As per the description, Phonak ComPilot gets disconnected from the computer when Bluetooth adapter is disabled. I’ll definitely help you with the issue. You know What? I solved this problem in a very low tech way (although it seems to confuse other people). Whenever I am on my computer and getting audio from it, if someone walks up, I just yank my hearing aids out so I can hear them. It works, although people seem puzzled when I yank the aids out to hear them speak.

But Thanks for all the tech advice. I bought bluetooth adapters for my home and work desktop (both Windows7) but only my home desktop seems to work with it. I'm going to try the hotfix option on my work computer and see if that helps. Confused, so am I.

I have attempted to connect me Phonak I Con to my laptop and find that will not connect. I also checked the Phonak web site and downloaded a Quick Guide ' Connecting Phonak ComPilot to PC/Laptop. Recommendation: Purchase a Sennheiser USB Adapter and the then download the program from Sennheiser's web site after you have the USB connected. Beware it is a rather large download. Also, be sure you have the USB before you download the program.

I just bought new Acer 14. I switched on Bluetooth, and it recognized my Phonak ComPilot. It said 'Connecting to Phonak Compilot.' However, it would not connect, and I got the message 'Authentication code rejected while connecting to 'Phonak Compilot'.' I had no opportunity to enter the authentication code - no prompt - nothing. If I can't connect my Compilot, which controls my hearing aids to the Acer 14, I will have to return it, because I won't be able to watch and listen to videos. I just bought new Acer 14.
